The fact is that an apology is not enough. The way Dantes has put it, I'm not convinced that he's made a genuine apology since he hasn't even demonstrated any understanding of what he's done in the first place. It appears he's simply apologising to make the mods go away, adding insult to injury. If he's any sort of man he needs to face the music instead of making snide remarks and running off like some kid.
