I wouldn't look too much into it. Rolex dictates to AD's what watches they feature in ads, the style of the ads, and even the placement.
Any time I go through the airport I text my AD with a photo of one of their adverts featuring a Daytona, GMT, or Submariner as a joke. They frequently tell me, somewhat annoyed, that they're made to advertise watches they don't have, which leads to dozens of calls every day with people asking if they have in stock watches they obviously don't have, but are made to feature.
