To each his own, but for a 5513 I'd prefer to keep everything original. For modern luminescence, I'd get a modern watch (I have a Tudor 79190 Sub on which the 10+ year-old tritium is still quite visible in the dark).
You must have had a "Maxi dial" on your 1978 Sub. Oh well...
