Finally an old Rolex which looks good. I don't get the "patina" thing at all.
Same with cars, original body panels and paint are of course a big plus in a vintage car but ONLY if they are in good condition. An all original rust bucket won't be as appealing as a perfectly restored car.
It is still an old Rolex which happens to look like new! Very nice to see.
I just sold an old (1972) 1016 which came back from service. Dial and hands replaced and a full service. That watch looked sooooo good and the new owner is extremely happy with it.
BTW, in Belgium replaced old parts are destroyed, never returned.
