The Hesalite model feels cheaper. That's not a bad thing. It just feels more connected to the history of the Speedmaster as a tool. I take very good care of my watches and I still needed to buff out scratches. It never really bothered me and I almost liked knowing I could restore the Hesalite very easily if need be with Polywatch.

I made a decision two months ago that the new Speedmaster movement and bracelet upgrades were too much to turn down. I really wanted hacking seconds to set the time as accurately as possible. I further justified my decision to replace one Speedmaster Professional with another by "upgrading" to the sapphire version. It was just another change that helped me mentally justify throwing in a few more dollars to get basically the same watch. I am glad I did.

The sapphire Speedmaster Professional just feels more similar in quality to my other Rolex, Omega, and IWC pieces. I also love the gold Speedmaster Professionals that Omega has been releasing and the sapphire is the closest visually to these models (applied logo, open caseback, sapphire crystal, polished intermediate links).

Ultimately, it makes no difference when I think. I love both Speedmasters. I get why someone would get one or the other completely. This is just my story.
I agree, both Speedmasters are beautiful and this is what makes the decision more difficult.
