AirBNB offers the consumer no protection from a corporate standpoint. For example, I have a home in Naples Florida and we were devastated by Hurricane Ian. There was a story in the local paper about a traveler that was headed to Sanibel Island the week after Ian hit. The owner, not AirBNB, refused to provide a refund. The bridge to Sanibel had been severed, there was no electricity, no stores….. and no refund. I’ll take a nice Marriott, or similar, anytime.
Btw, the traveler did contact AirBNB and received no support.
