We've been really happy with MVC. The Hawaii properties are great but it's a long haul from the midwest. We've also enjoyed places in the Caribbean and Florida quite a bit over the years. I remember when we bought in we knew it was a loser from an equity standpoint, and it's definitely even worse now. But accounting for how much we use it and what it would have cost to substitute with hotel stays for 4 people, even with a value of zero on the timeshare it will have been worth it after 10-15 years, getting much more favorable after that. Doesn't make sense if you only vacation a few weeks a year, but works for us and our lifestyle.
