Just my opinion but I was under the impression that all Rolex service centers have access to "the Rolex database". Sydney RSC certainly does for tracking prior service work and also for checking for stolen watches. Any RSC can certainly verify the authenticity of a Rolex. They can certainly contact Geneva to validate the Comex connection. I am not talking about an AD I am talking about a RSC.
For valuation purposes Rolex probably will not be able to assist as they are not in the second hand market. For valuation my advise would be Christies in London as this is the sort of watch that they would typically sell.
