with a 6.75 in "medium" sized wrist, the 39 - 42mm size looks, and fits, best on me (personal opinion of course). Could I wear a 43mm SD, or slightly larger - sure, but I wouldn't feel it looked right on me. So, it is about how you feel, not what others think. That said, when I see others wearing a very loose watch, that flops around on their wrist, I wonder how that isn;t extremely distracting and uncomfortable - but YMMV. This is about as big as I choose to go
