If you had to sell and you were fortunate enough find a private buyer you could do OK (+/- depending). Selling it to someone who has to sell it to someone else in this market of somewhat declining values is going to yield a bigger hit (I tend to agree with roughly 20% for this scenario). Rolex CPO, second hand, etc ain't doing it for their health. Depends on your threshold for pain and how you'd plan to get out from underneath it. Personally, I wouldn't buy a watch if I had any financial reservations. Meant to be enjoyed, not anguished. Your money, your choice. If you wait a bit you may be able to walk in and buy at MSRP, or buy below MSRP via the second handers. No crystal balls here, so no telling what's going to happen. I wish you well. One thing is for sure, that watch will be around somewhere whenever you decide to buy one.
