Been there, done that...it IS cool, huh? Thrilled that you got to do that.
If you get a chance, head over to the Big Island; there is a beach on the east end of Kailua-Kona, along Ali'i drive, adjacent to the St Paul Church and Jameson's resteraunt, where there are dozens of sea turtles that come righ up to you as you swim. You dont even have to swim, you can just wade out that they will float past you.
