No, I do not think he does. As I recall the "WIS definition" was introduced on TimeZone (TZ) during the 90's. There was even a "society" (just for fun): SWIS - Society of Watch Idiot Savants. I remember the then owner of TZ Richard Paige producing and giving aways WIS pins. I had one once.

Now, more than ten years later, the term WIS is well known within the watch collector community. Perhaps it was somewhere else than on the TZ forum it started, but there is where I learnt about it.

Padi has a funny definition, below.

Google "Savant", and take it with a sense of humour. I guess "watch nerd" is a description close to "WIS".
