Sounds like a cool idea, but I would suggest a testing period of at least 72 hours. That way we could take the average over the 3 days. As far as a testing method, I think either of these two would work fine:
1) Set it, wear it and check it every 24 hours, or
2) Set it, place it somewhere, check it every 24 hours and shake it (that way we keep the watch wound).

I'll set mine tonight and see how it goes
