Welcome to the Forum.

IMO the best tool for the job is a 'Rolex Sea Dweller Screwdriver' . This screwdriver comes with the Sea Dweller but can be bought separately. I have one that came with my SD but bought a spare on Ebay. It is the exact size for the job and exposes the link screw heads to the minimum potential for damage.
It also has a pin for removing the springbars on a Rolex with lug holes.
