The question wasn't about defending your choice, but why some people dislike Panerai. I offered up one explanation (even if articulated in a sloppy manner) based on opinions I've heard from people I know/met. I don't say I agree with them, but some people will have that perception about Panerais. Who cares? You can't care about what everybody thinks, but it helps being aware of it.
