As a pilot and aviation afficiando, the GMT was a natural choice for me. I actually use the GMT/UTC/Zulu function not so much for time zone changes but because pilot weater briefings and othjer information relied upon by pilots are given in Zulu. The rotating bezel is still fine for timing parking meters and such albeit not as readily as a Sub, but thaty difference is minor.

Call me crazy but i did, immediately upon purchase, have the pepsi bezel changed to black, making the watch look more like a sub. That was 1997 and the SS 16710 had the same finish on the bracelet as the Sub.

Today, the polished center links is, IMO, dressier and less "tool." The PCLs wear more in used than generally does not affect the regular bracelet. Witht hat said, PCL can be readily changed to satin. My newer GMTIIc is a two-tone but if not for my older 16710, i would definately go with the SS GMTIIc. Besides, everyone has a Sub.
