I guess the question I would have is if one can afford it or whether it's really one's parents who are affording it. Obvious point being whether you earned it with your own money versus someone else's money. If you have to use someone else's money to purchase, I wouldn't spend it on something so frivolous as a luxury watch.
FWIW, I always wanted a Rolex and could have afforded one a year out of college with my first investment banking bonus. However, instead I wrote a nice check to my parents as a gift for what they had done for me.
