It has for me. I've owned Panerai for a number of years and was fascinated by the brand. At one point, that was the only brand that I wore.
Now I feel like the models are just too similar and even with the in-house movement, they have become too pricey for what you get.
I like the new 8 day movement models but just not willing to pay the price for a simple dial anymore.
To be fair, I've recently gotten into APs and PPs and while these brands are an even much higher price level, I feel that the money is well spent for the watch you get (in terms of level of finish and detail, craftsmanship, exclusivity, pedigree, etc.)
I won't say never but I have no interest in buying another Panerai at this point.
