The AP Royal Oak contains the firms new in-house movement, as opposed to previous RO's containing ebauches from JLC. There have been teething problems with the first few batches of RO's, with movements just stopping. If I were to get an RO, I would try to find a New-Old-Stock one with the JLC Movement. Superior timekeeping in my opinion, and the AP/JLC relationship is one of the oldest in the business.
I personally own a PP Aquanaut 5165, the 38mm version. Great watch, new evolved movement, and fantastic design heritage.
