If you're in a free standing home, I think you have less of a chance at getting a reduction.
In my buildings in NYC and Miami, they are pre-wired with several providers. A tech can have you up and running in minutes.
Fios knows they are the best internet provider and try to leverage that but in the end, most people don't care. They want the best price for acceptable performance.
