I was also concerned about magnetising the watch and even went to the expense of buying a de-magnetiser, but so far watch has not been affected, it may be due to my watch being a newer model with the parachrome spring or the magnet in the mic being so small and has no effect, time will tell ( sorry for pun ).
If anything changes in the future I'll report back but so far I'm really pleased with app, my watch is still showing an average of +0.5 secs a day.
