I've since purchased a classic black calf strap and tang from breitling. The croc is cool but im a dress down kind of guy and much prefer tangs to deployants for comfort.

Your mother is right. Skaneateles is beautiful. Very small community. Super high $ real estate too. All of the Finger Lakes are breathtaking, especially in the summer-fall months. Not sure how far you want to venture out, Old Forge and the Fulton Chain of lakes are about as good as it gets for lakefront property. It's a little farther away from you. If you like winter sports there's plenty of skiing and NYS snowmobile trails up there too.
