I have one of both, for me the Panerai is better to wear, lighter and looks a lot nicer, as for the movements, i'm not too bothered as mine has the El Primero, but the newer chronos seem to be going up in price but with very little being added in terms of development and new movements.

Rolex on the other hand will always be one of those watches that everyone wants, it's pretty much 100% in-house and their history and marketing is second to none, Panerai have a long way to go to catch up with them.
