I never understood the middle east dials if one were not in someway affiliated with that middle east country...

I think the 'best vintage investment' is something that is full kit with papers and as original as possible, after that, it certainly seems the older (4 digit) sports models, followed by the 5 digit sports models seem to just keep going up. I think we will soon see a "holes" versus "no holes" cases be the indicator of "fresh vintage" to "modern"; the no holes, rolex rehaut and incised crown add a 21st century dynamic to the watch and it will be interesting to see in 10 years how the market will respond to a 1995 16710 to a 2005 16710.
