The staff can a bit rude in this store especially if you don't speak French, but if you show them you know what you are talking about they usually try to help you. I was able to try on the 5712R with the crocodile skin bracelet and the 5980/1AR last year.
As much as I hate to say that, French people especially in this kind of stores are very judgemental. Sales people expect you to be relatively well dressed to even look at you... Coming to the store with a PP (or a premium watch) is a must and would massively facilitate any conversation. A few words in French as well...
Alternatively, you can try the following resellers:
- Montres Modernes & Collection (MMC) - 9, rue Marbeuf, Paris 8
- Romain Rea - 25, rue Marbeuf, Paris 8 (they have 3 stores in Paris)
- Le Collection' Heure - 45, rue Pierre Charon, Paris 8
These are the three most trusted resellers in Paris and have a great selection of PP, AP, etc. There will be no glass of champagne, but you can be pretty sure you will be able to try on at least one or two models you like.
Hope it helps!
