I recommend having a Speedmaster Pro in your collection. I control the rate and accuracy of mine using different resting positions: dial-up, mine drops a couple of seconds/day; crown-up, it gains a couple of seconds/day. I wind it every morning, whether I'll wear it that day or not (I alternate between it and my Submariner), and then I just change its resting position as needed to keep it within a few seconds of true time.
As others have noted, the crystal is easily maintained with Polywatch or something similar. Mine only needs it once/year.
The watch oozes character, with an intriguing blend of shapes and finishes. Legibility is outstanding. It works well on its bracelet, but even better on a strap. I'm looking forward to making the seasonal swap to the black alligator strap that my Speedmaster lives on during the cooler months! It's a truly enjoyable watch to live with.
