I can tell you over the years I have had many different Daytona models (except the Platinum) and I can certainly concur that the PM is slightly bigger and wears slightly bigger as well.
I do not think it is very noticeable to the wearer, but there definitely is a difference between SS and PM cases. Bezels are the same dimensions, as are bracelets.
