Pics simply do not capture the appeal of this watch. I wouldn't dismiss it until you've handled it in the metal. The watch was designed to be monochromatic but there is enough contrast brought out by different lighting conditions that makes the Ghost continuously fun to wear.

As to value retention, the Ghost was trading at slightly above retail when it first came out. But I was able to walk into an AP boutique and purchase same day earlier this year, which means that prices might start coming down on the secondary if they haven't already.
