Agreed, only let AP do this, nobody else, or it will be ruined. As for the refinishing, which is a mix of polishing and brushing, it rather depends upon how deep the scratches are, because to remove them completely they will need to remove metal until the surface is blemish free.
You really need to send it to AP and get their advice.
