As mentioned above. The trick to not geting the minute hand to "bounce" when pushing the crown in is always to set the time by going forward. Some movements (maybe only older ones?) can actually get damaged by the bump that happens when minute hand has been set by going in reverse and then engaged when pushing in the crown. Pretty sure it doesn't cause damage on modern ones but alot of watchmakers still recommends only setting time forward.
