Which police auction did you go to? BX or BK?
If it were a replica, the NYPD wouldve destroyed it. So I'm guessing that someone there either authenticated it or was a bit unsure and let it pass through into auction. Obviously, this does not mean, no am I implying that it is a genuine mk0, so you need to get it checked out and documented.

Just make sure that whatever happens, DO NOT sell it, DO NOT have them send it away for service, DO NOT let it out of your sight. Bring a camera and take detailed photographs.
