Well, there are "watch brand" fans and there are watch fans. The former only like the watch because of the brand. The later like a watch because it is a great watch. Don't get me wrong, brand equity and image is also important for me as well. But if too "brand-restricted", it makes one unable to appreciate the potentially better watches out there.
