Sorry, still unclear what you are saying, OP.

Is AP requiring you to get a full service if you want the crown fixed? Or did your jamming the crown back in damage the watch? Or are you just choosing to get a full service because the out of warranty repair would already cost, say, $400, or you could just get it repaired if you opt for the full service (for which it may be due) for a total of around $1000? Or something else?
