Myself - my first one was a model year 1987 (still have it) 36mm Oyster Perpetual Date, Rolesor.
Still one of my favorite Rolex. IMHO you will not go wrong with older models. Still serviceable and just as good as anything new, for the most part. Built to last generation after generation.
