We really need a metallurgist to chime in in this one. I’m absolutely positive it is reversible and probably just needs another bath some kind of neutralising solution and it will instantly change back to its natural colour. It’s clearly a chemical reaction.
I shouldn’t worry, it’ll come back like the day it was new.
