You can have the best beans in the world, but if they're not processed correctly, the final product will not be good.
The problem with the big companies like Starbucks and Coffee Bean (I will say that Coffee Bean is much better than Starbucks) is that they overroast their beans and they roast in really large quantities, resulting in poor QC. Many of the beans that you buy from Starbucks, Coffee Bean, etc... were roasted months ago. Beans are their best within 2 weeks of roasting.
