I'm guessing you thought this was a witty comeback but his point was that winders increase wear on moving parts (whether it's an issue or not is still being debated).
You're talking about keeping the battery charged. Which is not really relatable to anything. (perhaps a trickle charger for your quartz watch?)
Bottom line is, use winders or don't. You get to choose.
