They have been trying that for years, but keep needing to add AD to get watches sold, who in turn MUST discount to get them out the door...

Omega is scaled to produce alotta watches at factory level. They have to go somewhere and boutique only doesn’t cut it as those watches aren’t guaranteed sales when they hit the boutique. They still need to be sold to the end user. That costs Omega even more as they incur all the overheads from the boutique operation all the while the watches just sit there.

They need the AD model to get cash flow from sold watches in one big order from AD channel.

Now the AD is stuck with dogs and excess stock and must dump watches, hence the discounting to move them along.

Omega simply makes too many watches for all these dreams to come true...
