I did feel however that F2,8 didn`t let through enough light though, or is that me not being able to time it right? I had to use very high iso when using my Tamron 28-75 F2.8. to get some decent shutter times or else it just turned out blurry or too dark.
2.8 is the fastest you can get for a zoom lens, so the only thing better is to get VR. I've used the 70-200mm f/2.8 VR for concert photography in the past and it has worked well.
