Have you looked at Archimede? Their deck watch is on my short list at the moment. 42mm. Clean dial and 6498 hand wound eta. True pilot watch to me. And at 50% of the cost of the Stowa. Their quality is out of this world at the price point. Here are two of mine. They have other models that may fit the 40mm option. Let me look.



Edit: they have a klassic that is 39mm with an sellita auto and a 1950's at 39 with a citizen auto.

Yes you're correct. It is 41mm.
I've read that Stowa has excellent customer service so I guess it could be returned.
I've heard of Archimede and particularly like their Deckwatch.
