I completely agree

There is less of a hit and miss with Amarone but in general, $50 will get you a consistently decent Amarone.

A <$50 bottle of Barolo, on the other hand, will get you complete garbage unless you like ridiculous amount of tanins that no amount of aging will help. Barbaresco's at any price range are typically more approachable.
