Otherwise, in any normal year, pneumonia kills something like 30000 people annually in the U.K. and is a very common presentation/complication in hospitals. The symptoms are broadly the same as COVID-19. Lots of people testing negative for it in hospital will have had pneumonia caused by other pathogens.
