As above, Ubud is very nice & different than the beach areas; four days isn't much time though. I work most of the year in Indonesia, so I'm somewhat jaded on Bali & and would spend my time lounging vs. exploring on a four day schedule.
As long as you get outside of Kuta you're doing it right (nothing wrong with it, but it's tourist central). I haven't stayed at the W, but a friend did last year & said it was great.
