I googled the seahorse and Seiko’s and ended up looking at a 1964 Seiko Seahorse which had a great story:

That's an interesting article and a cool watch. I have a 1966 catalog here with a slightly dressier Seahorse next to a 62MAS.
A Seahorse logo was used on the casebacks of early waterproof handwinding models, and a dolphin was used on the back of waterproof automatics.
