Yup. It wasn’t easy as I love the 5170p, but the 5270p has been a grail of mine even before it was in the catalogue.
I will admit that Ben’s pics of his recent acquisition make me want the 5170p back, but I have resisted so far, barely. He is a very good enabler.
All in all, though, I do appreciate the case, lugs, and overall design more on the 5270p. It’s a watch that keeps your attention. The blackened numerals and index markers against the salmon dial are just perfect. The case is bold and curvy, and the lugs are broad and sexy. The watch is so well proportioned. Hoping to have a new strap option at some point in the future to spice it up a bit.
