I suppose some/many people purchase Patek watches without an understanding of the history of the brand and longevity of the Patek manual wind chrono. Maybe someone who is caught up in the "hype"?
But then you have plenty of people here asking why would anyone buy a manual wind Patek... Patek only started making automatic chronos his millennium IIRC.
