Depends on the lubricants that they used at the time. Even today's synthetic lubricants have a shelf life of 6 years which is likely why Rolex warrantees for 5 years. You can likely get the watch wear it and it will function just fine. To be sure, have a watchmaker diagnose by putting on a timegrapher and seeing the read out. If anything is out of spec then I would recommend a full service/lubrication to be on the safe side.
