I never really knew what to do with kids and was never really comfortable with other people's kids.
But after having my own boy it's a whole different story. I spent all my time not working taking care of him. I took him everywhere with me even as an infant. We would go for walks everyday (him propped up in the wagon) and I read to him every night. I can't tell you how many hundreds of hours have been spent playing catch. Even now he's 11 and I tuck him in every night.
So you don't have to be one of those cuddly, mushy "kid people" to be a great parent. You only have to be that way with yours.

yea, i believe that you will have to experience it before we will truely feel the maternal (or paternal) instinct kick in .
Just that i am too afraid to take the big step.
i had sort of done it in the sence that i took a lot of responsibility in bringing up my brother ......
who knows ... anyway i am not even married so at the moment i can shout and say
"Who cares abt kids !!!!!" ha ha
