Both transition well from suit to t-shirt, though I think that the 5712 is slightly more casual with the busier dial and splash of red.

The 5711 is so true to the timeless Genta design, and so beautiful and symmetrical. Personally, I'd go for the 5711. On the other hand, if you like the 5712 more, then go for it because it's *nice to be different*. I'm enjoying a 5711 with white dial at the moment and loving it.

Having said all that, I think my favorite Nautilus, perhaps even favorite watch -period - may be the 5726. For me, that could be a one-and-done watch.
