I am no expert, but I believe Precision refers to the movement inside, and/or how accurate it could be.

They had Precision, Super Precision and of course COSC.

I have seen Precision on the dial as late as 2000. I would speculate this was a change made within the last few years, to bring the AK up to COSC Standards.

I am sure a resident expert will chime in with the year they changed it.
